What are Polynucleotides?

Firstly, we’re delighted to be able to bring one of the best new treatments to Refine Clinic, Polynucleotide Treatments.

Polynucleotide treatments are the gold standard in true skin regeneration. It’s a well known fact that fibroblasts are a type of cell in connective tissues that produce collagen and help maintain the structural framework of tissues. They’re filtered and ultra-purified natural DNA fractions that initiate your body’s natural fibroblast production, resulting in increased collagen, and a thicker, healthier epidermis. Ultimately, well-functioning fibroblasts are what keep us looking young.

Thanks to polynucleotides’ antioxidant properties, there is a reduction in inflammation and youthful volume and hydration is restored.

There’s undisputed evidence in both the medical and asethetic fields about the power of Polynucleotides. Unlike some injectables, polynucleotides are an exceptionally versatile and all-around treatment. They’ve been developed with a host of patient concerns in mind, and can treat perceived flaws across the body and face, including the eye area, the chest and stretch marks.

Excellent at boosting fibroblast production and inducing deep tissue repair processes, polynucleotide treatments enhance the skin’s quality whilst also aiding with other concerns.

What can Polynucleotides do for me?

Polynucleotides have been used in various medical and cosmetic treatments, such as wound healing, tissue regeneration, and skin rejuvenation.

Research has proven that polynucleotide injectables have the power to treat androgenetic alopecia and in all cases of hair weakening due to the injectables continuous bio-restructuring effect. They are particularly effective in cases where the hair bulb is weak for example, the initial stage of baldness, androgenic alopecia, post-partum thinning & eyebrow thinning. In particular men have started to use polynucleotides to treat the thinning of beard hair.

They improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and we like to think of them as a super charged injectable moisture treatment.

We consider polynucleotides to be perfect to counteract dark circles under the eyes and to strengthen the thin delicate skin around the mouth. Nucleofill is a great product for around the eyes, and in particular if you’re not suitable for tear trough fillers, or who might have a tendency to go puffy if treated with a hyaluronic-acid based products.

They help with cellular repair and regeneration, moisturisation, and protection against harmful external agents such as UV rays and even the effects of air pollution on the skin.

How are Polynucleotides different from Dermal Fillers?

For patients concerns with fine lines, wrinkles and the loss of elasticity in the face or neck, polynucleotides work on skin quality.
This makes them an excellent option for under-eye crepiness, puffiness, wrinkles, and hollows.

Fillers are more suitable for those with significant volume loss, imbalances or those who wish to restore definition. They
augment a specific area via a lifting and volumizing effect. While they can give the skin greater luminosity, polynucleotides tend to take a more holistic approach for widespread improvement of the skin whilst stimulating collagen production and smoothing lines and wrinkles.

What are the benefits of Polynucleotides?

  • They stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which helps to improve skin elasticity and firmness.
  • The reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.
  • The texture of your skin improves and becomes hydrated.
  • You will see a reduction in any inflammation and redness
  • Any skin damage has the potential to improve.

Are there any side-effects with polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are generally well-tolerated. Their main potential side effects relate to the site of the injection i.e. redness, swelling, bruising.

More serious side effects, such as allergic reactions, are rare. Every patient is unique and it’s we recommend a pre-treatment consultation with Dr. Natalia. This will be beneficial and she will fully assess and explain any potential risks for you.

‘Soft’ was developed especially for treatment on the most delicate parts of the face, such as the eye area. It works to renew and refresh the skin around the eyes for a brighter and firmer appearance.

‘Medium’ has been specifically studied to improve the trophism of the hair follicle based on medium molecular weight and high-density polynucleotides.

‘Strong’ works to rejuvenate and revive the skin with its antioxidant and moisturising properties, without altering the volume or shape of the skin.

Before your treatment, you should inform Dr. Natalia about your medical history as well as your expectations. If you regularly take anticoagulant medication, for example, you should consider with your GP/Consultant to abstain from this for 14 days before the treatment.
