What to Expect from Exosomes Treatment

At Refine Clinic, we follow several key steps to ensure your treatment goes smoothly.  

Step 1: Consultation 

During your initial consultation, Dr. Natalia Bratu will examine your skin, discuss your concerns and recommend  the right treatment. Generally your consultation & treatment may  be conducted in the same appointment.  

Step 2: Preparation 

Once you’re comfortable, your skin is cleansed and prepped. For the microneedling with exosomes, we’ll apply a topical numbing agent to ensure comfort.

Step 3: Procedure 

If paired: Microneedling is performed first, creating controlled micro-channels. 

The exosome formula is then applied and gently massaged in to maximise absorption. 

The entire session typically lasts between 45-60 minutes depending on the area treated. 

Step 4: Aftercare and Recovery 

You may see some temporary redness or warmth post procedure, especially if you had microneedling beforehand.

Recovery is rapid and many people return to normal activities the next day. We’ll also provide you with a tailored after-care plan to help maintain your results and protect your skin. 

Results 

Most of our patients eagerly ask when they’ll begin to see the results of their exosome skin treatment. The good news is that you’ll notice early improvements within 1–2 weeks. Your skin will continue to improve over the following 4-8 weeks as collagen and new skin cells develop. Pre & Post Treatment Advice

The intake of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) should be avoided for two-three days before the treatment. Anti-inflammatory drugs include ibuprofen (Nurofen), mefanamic acid (Ponstan), diclofenac (Difene) and others. 

If you bruise easily, or you’re not sure if you do, we recommend taking a high-strength, freshly prepared arnica supplement for a few days before your treatment and continuing it for 3–5 days afterwards. 

In general, to reduce bruising in this area, it’s advised to apply pressure to the injection site for 3-5 minutes afterwards.

A 200c strength arnica remedy is ideal and can be purchased in most health food shops or homoeopathic pharmacies. Arnica cream is also very effective. 

As with any face treatments, it’s advised to stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible and to avoid using any harsh toners or cleansers on the treated area. It’s also best to avoid strenuous exercise post-treatment as it may cause bruising.

Exosomes are applied topically, meaning they should be a totally pain-free treatment that requires no downtime. When used in conjunction with other treatments, such as microneedling, they can reduce the discomfort felt post-procedure while maximising results. 

As a doctor-led and patient-centric clinic, Dr. Natalia Bratu will have a full consultation with you to discuss your medical health and suitability, benefits, risks, results and post-treatment expectations. She will be by your side throughout the process. 

Some people may not be suitable for treatment due to pre-existing medical conditions, lifestyle factors or their current physical condition. 

At Refine Clinic, we never pressure our clients to proceed. During your first consultation, Dr. Natalia Bratu will assess whether the treatment is right for you, and if it’s not, you’re welcome to consider your options. 

Exosomes are said to continue being active in the skin up to 8-12 months post-treatment, leading to maintained skin quality improvements. 

As exosomes work by triggering your skin’s natural repair processes, the results aren’t instant. The best outcomes appear 3-6 weeks after their use due to their triggering of increased collagen and elastin production. However, due to their anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, exosomes can quickly reduce the downtime of other tweakments, which can be useful while you wait for their full effect. 

This is understandable and no issue at all. To provide reassurances, Dr. Natalia Bratu will go through the treatment and answer all your questions. If you decide not to have treatment at any point, that is also no problem. There may even be other treatments that you’re more comfortable with.
